How to Choose the Right Pressure Washer for Different Cleaning Tasks
Start With the Cleaning Task, Not the Biggest Number
Most people shopping for a pressure washer look at the bar rating, pick the highest one in budget, and call it done. It feels like the safe choice. It usually isn't.
Go too weak and the oil patch under the car takes an hour instead of ten minutes. Go too strong and you can lift paint off a bumper or chew into soft brick.
In Pakistani homes the jobs are fairly predictable: the car or bike in the porch, the main gate, the boundary wall after the monsoon, and a proper wash of the driveway before Eid. Work out which of those you'll do every week, and buy for that one.

What the Numbers on the Box Actually Mean
Hyundai prints four figures worth caring about. Here's how each one shows up when you're actually cleaning.
Pressure (bar) is how hard the water hits. You'll see two pressure figures, and you want both. Maximum is the peak the pump can reach. Working pressure, called "pressure rate" on some listings, is what it runs at most of the time, and it's lower. The HPW105S is a good example: 105 bar maximum, 70 bar working.
Flow is how much water comes out each minute, and it's the number most buyers skip. Pressure loosens the dirt; flow carries it off. The 105 and 135 bar models are rated at 5.5 L/min and the HPW165 at 6.0 L/min.
Two listings give flow per hour instead. 340 L/h on the HXPW120-IM works out to about 5.7 L/min, and 400 L/h on the HXPW150-IM to about 6.7 L/min.
Motor power runs from 1200W to 2100W across the range. The IM models are listed with an induction motor and a copper motor.
Weight is the one nobody thinks about until they're carrying it. The 105 bar models are 7 kg and the HPW1354A is 8 kg. The HPW165 is 20 kg, and hauling that up to the roof or out to the gate every weekend gets old quickly.
Which Pressure Range Suits Which Job
Car and motorbike
This is what the HPW105S is for. It pairs 1400W with a 70 bar working pressure, which is enough for a car, a bike, and the dust on the gate or porch tiles.
Extra bar won't get the car any cleaner. It only makes it easier to damage the paint. Use the wide-angle nozzle, stand back from the bodywork, and if you're not sure, try a hidden spot first.
Porch floors, walls and gates
Oil drips on the porch, dried mud, and those green streaks the monsoon leaves on boundary walls need a bit more. This is the 110–135 bar range, where the HPW110-IM, the HXPW120-IM and the HPW1354A sit.
Heavy build-up and big areas
Mould, flaking paint, thick grime and long driveways are where the HXPW150-IM and HPW165 earn their keep. More pressure and more flow means fewer passes.
Just remember the HPW165 is the 20 kg one. Think about where it'll be stored and how far you'll carry it.
Solar panels, windows and anything delicate
Here you go the other way. Lowest pressure, widest nozzle, plenty of distance. And before you point any machine at a panel or a window, check what its manufacturer says about cleaning it. Some would rather you didn't.

Mistakes People Make When Buying
The big one is buying on maximum pressure alone. Two machines with the same peak figure can feel quite different in use, because their working pressure and flow aren't the same. Look at all three.
Next is buying more machine than the job needs. If the car is the main job, a 165 bar washer isn't a better car washer. It's just harder to control around paint and rubber trim.
Then weight. Easy to ignore on a product page, hard to ignore on the stairs.
And accessories get forgotten. The Hyundai foam bottle fits several models, including the HPW-105S, HPW-110IM, HXPW120-IM, HXPW150-IM and HPW-165, according to its product page. Worth checking before you check out.
